IIT BBS offers more than 15 courses in different specialisations at the UG level. The UG program courses are studied for 4 years or 8 semesters. The institute also offers integrated or dual degree courses for the duration of 5 years or 10 semesters.


IIT Bhubaneswar 2022 Admission Process

The admission process in IIT BBS will be successfully counted if the candidates fulfil the institutional criteria. Then the candidates are shortlisted for the next stage of admission where the admission and the counselling process are made to finalise the candidates for the offered programs of IITBBS.

Admission to IIT Bhubaneswar is made through the ranks of scores in various entrance examinations, including the joint entrance examination (JEE) for B.Tech students. IIT BBS also offers scholarships to the students through a free-messing scholarship for merit come means basis. Besides that, the candidate has to produce a passing mark sheet of 10+2 or equivalent examinations during admission with not less than 75% aggregate marks. Candidates must also produce the pass mark sheet of the entrance examination during admission to the institution.

Application Process

Scholarship

Description

Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship (MCM)

IIT Bhubaneswar provides MCM scholarships to the students (gross annual income of their parents must not exceed INR 4.5 lacs per annum) not exceeding 25% of the students for admission to the UG program every year. 

Free studentship

The institute allows free studentships to eligible candidates (not exceeding 10 % of the students admitted to the UG program). It also pays the tuition fee.

Other scholarships provided by the government of India

Scholarships provided by India's government to the user candidates include the Central sector scholarship scheme for top-class education for SC students, ST students, and physically disabled candidates.

Interest-free loans

The institute had been tied up with the State Bank of India to provide interest-free loans to the students under the Vidhya Lakshmi scheme to pay their tuition fees subject to conditions and eligibility criteria.

IIT Bhubaneswar Placement

IIT Bhubaneswar inaugurated a phase 1 placement drive on 1st December 2020 that provided 32% of placements to the students. In the 2020 placement drive, the institute had provided 87% of placement to undergraduate students. It also provides good placement for the students passing in the year 2021. We have not written an exact number as the placement report 2021 of IIT Bhubaneswar has not been uploaded on its official website yet.

There are two separate hostels for boys and girls. In it, two students will be allotted a room that helps students to bond better. All the first-year students stay in the Arugul campus, the permanent campus of IIT Bhubaneswar. After the first year, each student will get an individual room. The hostels are hygienic with regular cleaning and fully ventilated. It also provides 24 hours of high-speed internet facilities. There is a provision for registering complaints in the office inside the hostel regarding hygiene or maintenance.

The library is present on the Argul campus for various courses. The central library includes many reputed journals, research collections, and e-libraries. There is a provision of borrowing three books at a time for 30 days for undergraduate students. The e-classroom provides high-speed internet facilities so that students can access online e-books and NPTEL notes.
