Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bhubaneswar is one of the best engineering colleges in India ranking 12th  by India Today group, 2020 and 22nd  by NIRF, 2020. IIT Bhubaneswar was started on July 22, 2008. The eligible candidates get admissions in the college through National-level entrance examinations such as JEE Advanced and JEE Main. Every year more than hundreds of students belonging to the science and technology stream gets admissions under different engineering courses. The institution has a state-of-the-art infrastructure with modern facilities to ease the academic stress of the students. IIT Bhubaneswar Admission Process

The admission process in IIT BBS will be successfully counted if the candidates fulfil the institutional criteria. Then the candidates are shortlisted for the next stage of admission where the admission and the counselling process are made to finalize the candidates for the offered programs of IITBBS.

Admission in IIIT Bhubaneswar is made through the ranks or scores in various entrance examinations, including the joint entrance examination (JEE) for B-Tech students. IIT BBS also offers scholarship to the students through a free-messing scholarship for merit come means basis. Besides that, the candidate has to produce a passing mark sheet of 10+2 or equivalent examinations during admission with not less than 75% aggregate marks. Candidates must also produce the pass mark sheet of the entrance examination during the admission in the institution.

The eligibility criteria for all the courses include:

  • 10+2 or equivalent with physics, chemistry and mathematics as main subjects.

  • Biology or biotechnology as additional subjects.

  • Cut off mark of 75 percentage in 12th board and 65 percentage for SC and ST.

IITBBS invites applicants for admission to UG Courses through their scores in JEE Advanced and IIT JAM. Out of all the IIT colleges, IIT Bhubaneswar has been ranked 22nd by NIRF 2020. The admission for UG programs generally starts from December 2020 with enrollment in JEE mains. IIT Bhubaneswar Scholarship



Merit cum Means Scholarship (MCM)

IIT Bhubaneswar provides MCM scholarship to the students (gross annual income of their parents must not exceed INR 4.5 lacs per annum) not exceeding 25% of the students for admission to the UG program every year. It also compensates the tuition fees and scholarship of INR 1000 per month for 12 months.

Free studentship

The institute allows free studentships to the eligible candidates (not exceeding 10 % of the students admitted to the UG program). It also pays the tuition fee.

Other scholarships provided by the government of India

Scholarships provided by India's government to the user candidates include Central sector scholarship scheme for top class education for SC students, ST students, and physically disabled candidates.

Interest-free loans

The institute had been tied up with the State Bank of India to provide interest-free loans to the students under the Vidhya Lakshmi scheme to pay their tuition fees subject to conditions and eligibility criteria.

IIT Bhubaneswar inaugurated a phase 1 placement drive on 1st December 2020 providing 32% of placements to the students. In the 2020 placement drive, the institute had provided 87% placement to the undergraduate students.
