TS ECET is an online-based computer entrance test held by the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad. The exams were supposed to held during May, but due to the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic, the dates have been extended.

Basic Eligibility Criteria for TS ECET

JNTU has specified the basic TS ECET Eligibility Criteria, and you must adhere to it. Let’s recapitulate them once again:

  • You should have obtained a Diploma in Engineering and Technology / Pharmacy from the State Board of Technical Education of Telangana / Andhra Pradesh or any other Diploma recognized by the Government 

  • Candidates should be a domiciled resident of the state of Telangana / Andhra Pradesh and satisfy all local residential requirements

  • You must be a citizen of India 

Basic Education Qualifications

You must fulfill some immediate educational requirements. These are:

  • You should have passed a 3-year B.Sc Degree examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects

  • Candidates from bridge courses can also appear for the exam provided they completed the practical training for the bridge course before the counselling dates

  • Passed diploma in engineering/Pharmacy with at least 45% marks for entry to the lateral scheme

Preference Criteria for Admission to Colleges

TS ECET exam has also laid down certain rules following the preference order. Let’s go through the rules that would help you to decide your college after the counselling round.

  1. You will be given first preference for admission to the Information Technology course if you have obtained a diploma for the same.

  2. Seats are reserved in the ratio of 1:1 for candidates who have passed out with Pharmacy or Chemical Engineering for diploma in biotechnology.

  3. Special diploma holders in Industrial Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering have to sit for TS ECET – FDH examination in Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering only.

  4. If you are seeking admission to Textile Technology courses, you must have Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics as your subject combination in graduation.
