  • Nationality: To enroll in the Rajasthan polytechnic engineering courses, the candidate has to be a citizen of India. No international students will be allowed for the admission process. 

  • Age: All the candidates appearing for the admission have to attend a lower age limit of 15 years of age. However, there is no upper age limit mentioned by the authority. 

  • Educational Qualification: The merit list for the Polytechnic engineering course is prepared on the basis of 10th standard marks. The candidate has to pass the 10th standard or equivalent examination successfully from any recognized board. 

Apart from that, during the 10th standard education program, the aspirant is required to have taken Mathematics and Science as compulsory subjects. Moreover, the applicant requires securing a minimum of 35% marks on the total aggregate to be eligible for the selection process. 


Despite the admission process banks on the merit list, there is a reservation system applicable to all the candidates. A certain number of seats are reserved for the defense personnel. The reservation is done to offer equal rights to students from minority groups. For example, 45% of the reserved seats will be allotted for the applicants belonging to five tribal districts, Dungarpur, Udaipur, Banswara, Sirohi, and Pratapgarh. 


Apart from that, 3% of the total seats are prescribed for the applicants suffering from any disability. This process of the reservation is to encourage the backward classes. 


The Merit List

After considering all the factors of Rajasthan Polytechnic Eligibility Criteria, the authority may declare the merit list by 4th week of July,2022(tentatively). The candidates can check the list from the official website dteapp.hte.rajasthan.gov.in. The list will feature the names of the short-listed applicants along with the secured ranks. According to the ranks, colleges and institutions will be prescribed to the candidates by the authority.

1. What are the passing marks for polytechnic engineering?

The passing marks in Polytechnic vary for different universities. However, most of the universities for every 100 marks theoretical paper set 35 as the passing mark. On the other hand, considering the sectional papers and practical papers, the candidates have to secure 50% and 40% of the full marks respectively.
