FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

1. What happens when candidates score the same amount of marks?

When candidates score the same in the KIITEE, they will be subjected to a complex tie-breaking process in order to properly determine each candidate’s rankings. In courses like B.Tech, the candidates will be awarded a higher ranking if they scored better in physics, then mathematics, and then determined by the age of the candidate (with preference given to older candidates). Each course has its own tie-breaking process, which will decide how candidates with similar scores will be ranked. This tie-breaking process is wholly dependent on specific subjects, so candidates must know where to devote most of their preparation time.

2. What happens after the KIITEE results have been announced?

Once the KIITEE results have been announced, candidates can view their rank card on the official website as long as they know their application number and date of birth. They can then download their rank card, which they will need to print out (multiple copies recommended) as they will need to hold onto this when they are called for counselling. Candidates are advised to hold on to their rank cards and any additional copies they have taken until the end of the admission process.
