JEECUP Eligibility Criteria 2020

JEECUP, also known as the UPJEE-Polytechnic, a state-level entrance exam conducted by the Joint Entrance Exam Council of Uttar Pradesh. Admissions will be offered for Diplomas, Post Diplomas, and Post Graduate Diplomas in Engineering, Technology, and Management programmes, in polytechnic colleges affiliated with the Board of Technical Education in Uttar Pradesh. 

 

Eligibility Criteria 

To appear for these exams, a candidate must first be eligible; many groups have different criteria. Hence JEECUP eligibility criteria have been set so that the candidate can appear accordingly.  

There are different eligibility criteria that need to be looked into, such as age, category, academic status, etc. Any candidate can apply who is 14 years of age or above as on 1st July 2020, this is the only criteria there is when it comes to the age, as there is no age limit to apply for this exam as it accepts both graduates as well as post-graduate education course seekers. Even students appearing for their high school exams can also apply for this joint entrance exam, to try their best to reach the cutoff and reach the counselling stage to attain a seat in an institution of his/her own choice. 

 

Reservation Criteria

There is a reservation criteria as well, which is present over here as some seats are reserved for certain categories. The reservation norms state that 27% of seats are reserved for the OBC - NCL, 2%, and 21% for the ST and SC respectively, 20% for female candidates, 3% for PwD candidates, and 5% for freedom fighters. The whole system is done as per the government norms, as the percentages are given by the government as to what percentage of seats need to be reserved.

2. Which candidates can apply for the JEECUP examinations?

Any candidate who is an Indian national, who is a state domicile of Uttar Pradesh or has an educational background from the education board of Uttar Pradesh can apply for appearing in this examination. There is no maximum age limit on diploma courses in polytechnic colleges. The candidate should have passed class 10 with a minimum percentage of 35 in the final exam, this is also another criteria as to who can apply for the JEECUP joint entrance examinations.
