उत्तर: शेर का मुँह में गए जानवर कभी लौटकर नहीं आते हैं एवं वह मुँह में समाकर मर जाते हैं या उनका अस्तित्व नष्ट हो जाता है।वहीं रोजगार के दफ्तर की स्थिति कुछ भिन्न होती है। यहाँ पर बेरोजगार नौकरी की तलाश में जाते हैं परन्तु ना जाने कितने ही दफ्तरों में घूमने के बाद भी किसी को नौकरी नहीं मिलती है। रोजगार का दफ्तर, शेर के मुँह के जैसे आदमियों को हजम नहीं करता लेकिन वह उनकी आशाओं को जरूर खा जाता है।

7. मजूदरों के हाथ चार नहीं होने पर मिल मालिक को क्या एहसास हुआ ?

उत्तर: मजदूरों के हाथ चार नहीं होने लार मिल के मालिक को यह एहसास हुआ कि उसका यह प्रयास किसी काम का नहीं है तथा उसे मजदूरों को कम पैसे देकर दूसरे मजदूर भी रख लेने चाहिए और अपना काम जल्दी करवा लेना चाहिए।

8.आँखें बंद करवाने के पीछे , राजा का क्या मकसद था ?

उत्तर: राजा ने प्रजा को अपनी आँखें बंद रखने को इसलिए कहा क्योंकि यदि प्रजा अपनी आँखे खुली रखती तो प्रजा को राजा के शोषण के बारे में पता चल जाता और फिर वो राजा के खिलाफ आवाज उठाती। राजा सबकी आँखे बंद करवाने के बाद उनका शोषण आराम से कर सकता था।

9. जनता , राजा के सम्मुख अंधी हो जाए , तो राज्य पर इसका क्या प्रभाव पड़ेगा ?

उत्तर: यदि जनता ने राजा के शोषण के खिलाफ अपनी आँखें मुंद ली तो राजा जो मन में आएगा वो करेगा उसे रोकने वाला कोई भी नहीं होगा। जिससे राज्य का विकास भी बंद हो जाएगा। राज्य की प्रजा बस राजा की कठपुतली बनके रह जायेगी और राजा उनसे अपनी गुलामी करवाएँगा।

10 . हाथी और किसान के बीच हिस्से को लेकर क्या तय हुआ था ?

उत्तर: हाथी ने किसान को खेती करने के लिए कहा था और वह खुद फसलों को छोटे जानवरों से बचाने का काम करेगा और जो फसल बाद में पैदा होगी , उसको आपस में आधा – आधा बाँट लेंगे ।

11 . लोमड़ी शेर के मुँह में चली जा रही थी ? लेखक का भाव स्पष्ट करें ।

उत्तर: इस कहानी को पढ़के यह स्पष्ट होता है कि लेखक शेर के मुँह और रोजगार कार्यालय में कोई अंतर नहीं समझता है। लेखक को इस बात की भनक लगी कि शेर के मुँह के भीतर रोजगार देने वाला कार्यालय है, जहाँ सभी बेरोजगारों को नौकरी दी जाती है। इसलिए वह बिना किसी सोच विचार के खुद ही नौकरी की दरख्वास्त देने शेर के मुँह में चली गयी।

12 . आँख खोलने पर रामू , खैराती , और छिद्दू को सिर्फ राजा ही दिखाई दिया । क्यों ?

उत्तर: राज्य के सभी लोग काफी समय से राजा के आदेश के अनुसार अँधे, गूँगे और बहरे बने हुए थे जिसके कारण अब उनके पास खुद का कुछ भी शेष नहीं रह गया था। वह राजा के इशारों पर नाचने वाली गुड़िया जैसे बन गए थे, उनकी खुद की कोई पहचान नहीं थी। प्रजा को राजा के अलावा और किसी चीज़ की सुध नहीं थी। राजा के आदेशों के अनुसार कार्य करना ही प्रजा का जीवन था। जिसके कारण अगर वह अपनी आँखों को खोलकर देखने की कोशिश भी करते थे तो भी उन्हें केवल राजा ही दिखता था।

13 . आँखे बंद रखने से जनता को क्या क्षति हुई ?

उत्तर: राजा ने प्रजा की आँखों को बंद करवा दिया जिससे वह उसके शोषण को न देख पाए। राजा ने प्रजा से अपने सारे काम करवाये जो उसके लाभ के लिए होते थे। उसने जनता से अपनी गुलामी करवाई और उनसे सेवकों जैसा व्यवहार किया। जब थोड़े समय के बाद लोगों ने अपनी आँखे खोली तो उन्हें राजा के जुठ के बारे में पता चला कि विकास और उत्पादन हुआ है।

14 . फसल का बंटवारा किस तरह से हुआ ?

उत्तर: हाथी ने खाने का बँटवारा बराबर करने को कहा था अर्थात वह चाहता था कि एक गन्ने में से आधा किसान खायेगा तथा आधा हाथी खायेगा। हाथी जानता था की ऐसा करने से किसान अपने हिस्से का गन्ना अच्छे से खा नहीं पायेगा और उसे ही पूरा गन्ना मिल जायेगा।

उत्तर: मिल मालिक स्वाभाव से निरदई और लालची किसम का आदमी था। वह बिल्कुल भी दयावान नहीं था । वह अपने मिल को सबसे बड़ा मिल और खुद को सबसे अमीर इंसान बनाना चाहता था । वह चाहता था कि काम खूब हो और उसके बदले मजदूरी कम देना पड़े । ताकि उसका खूब मुनाफा हो सके । वह शोषण करने वाला व्यक्ति था ।

16 . विश्वास कैसे प्रमाण से अधिक महत्वपूर्ण है ? कहानी के आधार पर टिप्पणी कीजिए ।

उत्तर: प्रमाण का महत्व विश्वास से कम होता है। यदि हम किसी को प्रमाण दे और उसे हमपर विश्वास ना हो तो वह उस प्रमाण को भी नहीं मानेगा लेकिन जहाँ विश्वास हो वहाँ प्रमाण की जरूरत भी नहीं पड़ती है। किसी पर विश्वास होने के आधार पर लोग बड़े से बड़ा काम भी करने को तैयार हक जाते हैं। इसलिए बेरोजगार लोगों को शेर का मुँह भी रोजगार का दफ़्तर दिखलाई पड़ता है क्योंकि वह प्रमाण को देखते हुए भी अनदेखा कर देते हैं, उन्हें खुद पर विश्वास होता है। ऐसे ही चुनाव में नेता जब वादे करते है तो जनता को उनपर विश्वास हो जाता है और वह पिछले सालों में आये प्रमाणो को भूल जाती है। वह आम लोगों को अपने विश्वास के घेरें में लाकर उन्हें अंधा और बहरा बना देते हैं जिससे जनता को प्रमाण ना दिखायी देता है और ना ही वह कुछ सुन पाते हैं।

17 . राजा द्वारा आदेशित हुक्मों के बारे में लिखिए ।

उत्तर: राजा ने निम्नलिखित हुक्मों को जनता के लिए जारी किया था :

(क) अपनी आँखे मूँद ले- राजा को इस बात का भय था कि उसकी नियत जनता को पता चल जाएगी इसलिए उसने ऐसा आदेश दिया।

(ख) राजा ने जनता को उसके शोषण के बारे में सुनने से रोकने के लिए उसे बहरा बनने का आदेश दे दिया था। उसने ऐसा करने के लिए पिघले सीसे का प्रयोग किया।

(ग) जनता अपना मुँह भी सिलवा कर बन्द कर ले। जिससे राजा को बुरा-भला ना सुनना पड़े।

18 . लेखक असगर वजाहत का जीवन – परिचय लिखिए ।

उत्तर: असगर वजाहत का जन्म सन् 1946 ई ० में फतेहपुर , उत्तर प्रदेश में हुआ था । आपकी प्रारंभिक शिक्षा फतेहपुर में हुई तथा विश्वविद्यालय स्तर की पढ़ाई अलीगढ़. मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय से की । प्रारंभ में उन्होंने विभिन्न पत्रा – पत्रिकाओं में लेखन कार्य किया , बाद में वे दिल्ली के जामिया मिल्लिया विश्वविद्यालय में अध्यापन कार्य करने लगे । मूलतः और प्रथमतः असग़र वजाहत कहानीकार हैं। कहानी के बाद उन्होंने गद्य साहित्य की लगभग सभी विधाओं में लेखन किया और अपने लिए हमेशा नए प्रतिमान बनाए। अपने लिए जिस भी विधा को उन्होंने चुना वहाँ हमेशा पहले दर्जे की रचना संभव हुई। उनकी प्रमुख रचनाएँ हैं - दिल्ली पहुँचना है , स्विमिंग पूल और सब कहाँ कुछ , आधी बानी , मैं हिंदू हूँ ; कहानी संग्रहद्ध , फिरंगी लौट आए , इन्ना की आवाज , वीरगति , समिधा , जिस लाहौर नई देख्या तथा अकी नाटकद्ध में सबल भावाभिव्यक्ति एवं व्यंग्यात्मकता है ।

19 . मुनाफा बढाने के लिए मिल मालिक ने मज़दूरों के साथ क्या हथकंडा अपनाया था ?

उत्तर: मिल मालिक ने अपना मुनाफा बढाने के लिए मजदूरों के लिए चार हाथ की व्यवस्था करना चाहता था । इसके लिए उसने निम्नलिखित हथकंडे अपनाये :

(क) सबसे पहले उसने मजदूरों के 2 हाथों को 4 बनाने का प्रयास किया।

(ख) मिल के मालिक ने फिर मरे हुए लोगों के शवों से हाथ निकलवा कर अपने मजदूरों पर लगवाने चाहे।

(ग) उसने मजदूर के चार हाथ करवाने के लिए उनके शरीर से लकड़ी के हाथ जोड़े पर उससे कोई भी अंतर नहीं हुआ।

उत्तर: अगर हाथी को हम सत्ता की अर्थ में देखे और किसान को गरीब किसान की तरह , तो हम देखेंगे की हमारे भारत वर्ष में ऐसा सौदेबाजी हमेशा से चलती रही है । यहाँ एक गरीब किसान पूरी मेहनत से अपने खेत में फसल लगाता है , मगर जब फसल पक जाते है , मतलब कि काटने योग्य होते है , तो उसके कई हिस्सेदार हो जाते है । भारत के अमीर लोग , गरीबों के थाली की रोटी , हाथी की भांति ही छीन लेते है और बेचारे गरीब कृषक एक असहाय व्यक्ति की तरह हाथी को बस देखने के अलावा कुछ भी नहीं कर पाते।
