In the agriculture land the crop is cultivated. In the farmland the Xanthium and Parthenium also grow with the crops. These are called Weeds. Weeds compete with the crop plants for the food, space, air and nutrients. These make plants vulnerable to the pathogens and bacteria that lead to bad condition of crop.
Xanthium and Parthenium (carrot grass) are species of Asteraceae.These seeds are spread by water, humans, or any animals. These are also sometimes eaten up by the livestock and this leads to danger to the livestock. These also cause allergic reactions that cause asthma, eczema, running nose, swelling, puffy eyes and skin rashes. The weeds can be controlled by many methods one of the methods are physical method that get into role of manpower and pluck the weed manually, the biological or natural method helps in the weed control by the weed’s natural predator, the chemical method are widely used by the farmers, these include metsulfuron, atrazine and many more.
According to IUCN (International Union for Conservation of nature) the Parthenium commonly known as carrot grass is demarcated under 100 most invasive species in the world.

Xanthium is a weed plant but one of its species known as Xanthium strumarium is used as a medicine and improves various diseases. It improves appetite, has the cooling effect and is also antirheumatic.
