Hint: India adopted the constitution on $26$th January $1949$ and came into force on $26$th January $1950$ with the ambition of swaraj that is complete independence. Now let’s discuss this in detail about the Indian constitution.
Complete answer:
On $13$th December $1946$, an 'Objective Resolution' was presented by Jawaharlal Nehru, laying down the underlying principles of the constitution, which later became the Preamble of the constitution. This objective resolution was accepted without any disagreement.
Now to elaborate on this, we can say that this objective resolution was the founding stone for the future constitution. Constituent assembly by taking the help of this only made the constitution in two years, eleven months and 17 days. A lot of effort was put in to frame the constitution for independent India. Several constitutions of different countries were studied and analysed so as to put it in the Indian constitution plus trying to eradicate all the possible mistakes. And that is why our constitution is referred to as borrowed.
The preamble which is an introduction to the bulky Indian constitution states very clearly about India. It declares India to be a sovereign, socialist, secular and democratic republic. Although our constitution is bulky, it mentions each and every aspect of people’s aspirations. The basic qualities of our constitution are, written, rigid and flexible at the same time, unitary in spirit, federal in nature, independent judiciary, etc. Plus it clearly states that India is an indestructible union of destructible states which means that no state can part ways from the union of India. And lastly, India has a unitary form of government which means that centre is the supreme authority and states work under its directions.
Hence, the correct answer is option (D).
Note: \[26\]th January every year is celebrated as the republic day of India. In $2020$India celebrated $71$st republic day. Indian constitution is the world’s most successful constitution plus it has been hailed as the best constitution of the world. Indian constitution has been amended \[104\] times as of now.
