Hint: PVC is an example of that plastic which is easily soften on heating and hardened on cooling and thus, there is no or a little change in their properties. Now you can easily answer the given statement .

Complete answer:
We will discuss the given options one by one as;
(a) polythene:- Polythene is an additional polymer and is manufactured by heating pure ethylene under high pressure in the presence of oxygen. It is used in packaging material, for insulation of electricity etc.
(b) thermoplastic:- These are the polymers which can be easily softened repeatedly when heated and hardened when cooled with little change in their properties. When heated , they melt and form a fluid which can be moulded into any desired shapes and then cooled to get the desired product. Examples include PVC, polythene , Teflon ,acrylic etc.
(c) Thermosetting plastics:- These are the polymers which undergo permanent change on heating and become hard and thus, cannot be reused. Examples include Bakelite, melamine etc.
(d) Acrylic:- As discussed in option (b), it is an example of thermoplastics polymer.
So, thus, from the above it is clear that PVC is an example of thermoplastics polymer. PVC stands for polyvinyl chloride and it is an additional polymer i.e. it formed by the monomers without the elimination of the product molecules.

Hence, option (b) is correct.

Note:
Don’t get confused in the thermoplastic and thermosetting polymer. The only difference between the thermoplastic and thermosetting polymer is that the thermoplastic polymer can be softened repeatedly by heating and hardened on cooling without change in properties. On the other hand, in case of thermosetting plastics , they can be heated once because they undergo permanent change on melting and set into a new solid which cannot be remelted.
