The gonads found in male are testes and in females it is a pair of ovaries.
-Testes are oval- shaped organs. They are located in the scrotum. . Testes are found in pair and is responsible for the release of the male sex hormone testosterone. The hormone plays a crucial role in the formation of sperm. They are also responsible for the storage of the sperms. They produce hormones other than the testosterone known as androgens. Inside testes is the presence of seminiferous tubules which are responsible for the spermatogenesis. The tubules are lined with the Sertoli cells which produce hormones that produce sperm. Leydig cells present in the testes produce testosterone and androgens.
