The Patanwadi sheep are also known by the various names such as Desi, Kutchi, Kathiawari, Vadhiyari and Charotari) found in the coastal plains of the Saurashtra and Kutch regions of Gujarat, and the sandy loamy areas of Patan, Panch Mahals and Mehsana districts of Gujarat. The breed has three distinct strains, non-migratory, migratory and meat type. The non-migratory have small bodies, migratory with large bodies and long legs and meat type has big bodies and low stature.
The Lohi sheep is also known as Parkanni are found in the southern Punjab in Pakistan and states of Rajasthan and Haryana in India. The breed is known for its carpet quality wool and has good meat production. The animals are medium sized with white color bodies. The face is brown in color with wool on the forehead.
