Hint: In anaemia, our blood has low haemoglobin amount. This means low blood cells bound with haemoglobin molecules. This is caused due to lack of nutrients leading to the body losing its strength.
Step by step answer:
Anaemia is a condition in which the red blood cell count in the blood decreases significantly. This can happen due to lack of production of red blood cells or dysfunctional red blood cells.
Signs and Symptoms:
• Weakness
• Dizziness
• Shortness of breath
• Skin pallor
• Fast heart rate
• Brittle nails
The causes of anaemia are multiple depending on the types. They are as follows:
-If the anaemia is caused by iron deficiency, then it is called iron deficiency anaemia. Our body needs iron to produce haemoglobin. Due to lack of iron, haemoglobin is not produced and so the red blood cells are not produced in an adequate amount.
-Anaemia is caused due to vitamin deficiency as well. Other than iron, folate, and Vitamin ${{B}_{12}}$ are also required to produce haemoglobin as well. Their lack of concentration causes pernicious anaemia.
-Other types of anaemia can be caused due to other diseases like AIDA, kidney disease, Crohn’s disease, and many more. These diseases interfere with the bone marrow to produce red blood cells and therefore causes anaemia of inflammation.
-A rare and vicious type of anaemia, aplastic anaemia is caused due to insufficient production of red blood cells. It is caused due to infections and exposure to toxic substances.
-Bone marrow cancer or diseases causes dysfunctional bone marrow affecting blood production.
-Sickle cell anaemia is another type of anaemia which is caused due to a genetic defect.
Note: The types of anaemia caused due to deficiency of some nutrients can be treated by consuming those nutrients. Iron, folate, Vitamin C, and Vitamin ${{B}_{12}}$ can be used to treat iron deficiency anaemia and pernicious anaemia.
