The Final Words:

As Pre RMO is the first phase of the Mathematical Olympiad, it is quite important to clear this stage. Otherwise, any student will not be able to appear in the second exam of the competitive exam chain i.e. RMO or Regional Mathematics Olympiad.

To conquer any such exam, practice is the ultimate weapon for exam preparation. This helps in learning to solve various kinds of problems in less time. Practise as many as sample paper 1 possible or even the Pre RMO last year question papers. This is how students will be able to complete their syllabus properly and garner the knowledge within the stipulated time frame.

Total Number of Seats in Pre-RMO

For students who are participating in Pre-RMO, they need to get aware of the total no. of seats available.

1. There are a total of 25 regions that participate in the Olympiad.

2. There are a total of 300 seats allotted per region for class VIII to class XI.

3. There are a total of 60 seats belonging to class XII and 5 per cent to 1 per cent is for Jawahar Navodya Vidyalaya (JNV) and Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV).

4. The question paper is the same for all the classes.

So, the total number of seats depends on the 25 regions and the rest of them. So, it is 360 X 25 = 9000. So, it leads to the selection of 14, 000 students in the Pre-RMO including Jawahar Navodya Vidyalaya (JNV)  and Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV).

Examination Pattern of Pre-RMO

Pre-RMO is the first stage of the entry of the student for the Olympiad and therefore he needs a solid plan for its proper preparation. But before starting the journey for the preparation of the  Pre-RMO, it is indispensable to know about the examination pattern of the  Pre-RMO. The total number of questions in the examination paper is 30 and answers are to be marked on an OMR sheet. The instructions regarding the examination need to be read carefully especially about the question paper and the OMR sheet.
