1. What is the eligibility criteria for NSEP 2024-25?
Applicants living and studying in India since November 30, 2021, or earlier can apply for NSEP 2024-25. Such candidates also must NOT have qualified for the class 12 board exams before November 30, 2021. Apart from this, they must not appear for the IOQJS 2023. The student should also not be enrolled in or planning to be in a university or equivalent institution by June 1, 2024.
2. Name all the stages of the National Olympiad Program?
The Science Olympiad program is a culmination of five stages in which the candidates are tested throughout the process of each stage and only the best ones are selected to participate in the InPhO which is the final stage. The stages are listed down below as follows-
Stage I: National Standard Examinations (NSE)
Stage II: Indian National Olympiad (INO)
Stage III: Orientation cum Selection Camp (OCSC)
Stage IV: Pre-departure Training Camp (PDT)
Stage V: International Physics Olympiad (InPhO)
3. List out the importance of taking Part in the NSEP 2024-25 Mock Test.
Among the many advantages of writing a mock test for the NSEP examination, mock tests help the candidate to save time by allowing them to assess the time they need to solve the questions as they will already be familiar with them. Often candidates tend to make mistakes while writing the answers although they are familiar with all the topics. Mock tests help to identify the type of error that the students are making. The chances of repeating the same error in the actual examination will significantly reduce.
4. How is qualifying the NSEF 2024-25 test beneficial?
Qualifying in the NSEP examination will make students eligible to apply for scholarships that have been instituted for them to take up physics as a career. In addition, excelling students are awarded gold medals. They also have the opportunity to sit for the interview for joining DAE directly without appearing in their entrance exam. They can also participate in the International Olympiad by qualifying for this exam.
5. How can I appear for the International Physics Olympiad?
Enrolling in NSEP 2024-25 is the first of five stages that a student needs to go through to participate in the International Physics Olympiad (InPhO). The stages are Stage 1: National Standard Examination in Physics (NSEP), Stage 2: Indian National Qualifier in Physics (INQP), Stage 3: Orientation-cum Selection Camp (OCSC), Stage 4: Pre-departure Training Camp (PDT), and finally, Stage 5: the International Physics Olympiad (InPhO), qualifying which allows the student to directly join the Department of Atomic Energy by sitting in their interview.
