What is WBJEE?

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) is a competitive entrance exam conducted for admission to B.Tech and B.Pharma courses offered by government colleges, universities, and self-financed institutions across West Bengal.


In addition to WBJEE-qualified candidates, students who have qualified for JEE Main may also be eligible to participate in the WBJEE counselling process, subject to the rules prescribed by the board.


Who Can Appear for WBJEE 2026?

  • Nationality: Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply.

  • Age Limit: Candidates must be at least 17 years old as on 31 December 2026. There is no upper age limit for most courses; however, for Marine Engineering, the age limit is typically between 17 and 25 years, as per previous guidelines.

  • Academic Qualification: Candidates must have passed Class 12 (or an equivalent examination) with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with any one of the following:

    • Chemistry

    • Biotechnology

    • Biology

    • Computer Science

    • Technical Vocational Subjects
