1.) Xenon is also classified as a rare atmospheric gas, it is non- toxic tasteless, colorless, monoatomic and is chemically inert with an atomic number of 54 and atomic mass 131 units.
2.) It was discovered by Scottish chemist William Ramsay and English chemist Travers in the year 1898, well this was not their first discovery, they already discovered Argon, Neon and krypton from liquid air. They named the gas xenon for the Greek word Xenos that means ‘stranger’.
3.) Let’s know some properties of Xenon:
a) Although Xenon is unreactive, it undergoes some chemical reactions for example formation of xenon hexafluoroplatinate.
b) Naturally occurring xenon have seven stable isotopes, more than 40 isotopes undergo reactive decay, the isotopes of xenon are important for knowing the early history of the solar system.
