Hint: In this question a term Acetanilide is used. As we know that Acetanilide is a white colored compound which is solid in nature and it is mainly used in organic processes. Talking about its uses, it is used as a treatment medicine for headaches in later times.

Complete Step by Step Solution:
In this question it is given that, we have to form Acetanilide by using aniline as a reaction and one of above option given substance to form Acetanilide,
We know that, when we add Acetic anhydride with aniline then it forms Acetanilide with a mixture of Acetic acid.
So, as by writing the reaction we get the product as,

As in the middle of the equation we get that when Aniline is reacted with Acetic anhydride then it will provide a product of acetanilide as with acetic acid.
Therefore, the correct answer to prepare Acetanilide from aniline is Acetic anhydride.
Hence, the correct option is (D).

Note: This question is a part of chemical reactions of amines. The major reaction which are very important to study are Electrophilic substitution reaction, Electrophilic substitution Nitration, Carbylamine reaction these are the major reactions which we have to know to solve many type of this type of questions because there are many types of different properties of reaction which we have to know.
