Overview: KIITEE Eligibility Criteria 2022

Any candidate looking to take the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology Entrance Examination (KIITEE) will need to match the KIITEE eligibility criteria for the specific course in which they wish to enroll. Any candidate who fails to meet the KIITEE eligibility criteria 2022 will not be considered for admission regardless of their performance in the entrance exam. 

 

Eligibility Criteria: 

Most UG courses require a certain cutoff average that Candidates will have to score in their 12th examinations. PG courses typically require that a corresponding UG course be completed.

Candidates should Pass in their class 12 examination or its equivalent with at least a 60% marks average in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics

Candidates looking to take Biotechnology must also have passed Biology in their Class 12 examination

B.Sc Nursing

Candidates should Pass in their class 12 examination (Under a recognized board of education) or its equivalent with at least a 45% marks average in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English

Candidates should be between 17-35 years as on 31, December 2022

BA Economics (Hons)

Candidates should Pass in their class 12 examination (Under a recognized board of education) or its equivalent with at least a 50% average

Candidate should have been born on or after 1-07-2001

BA Sociology (Hons)

Candidates should Pass in their class 12 examination (Under a recognized board of education) or its equivalent with at least a 50% average

Candidate should have been born on or after 1-07-2001

Master of Mass Communication (integrated)

Candidates should Pass in their class 12 examination (Under a recognized board of education) or its equivalent with at least a 50% average

Candidate should have been born on or after 1-07-2001

B.Sc (Computer Science) 

Candidates should Pass in their class 12 examination (Under a recognized board of education) or its equivalent with at least a 50% average in the science stream (mathematics included)

Bachelor of  Design (Fashion/Textile)

Candidates should Pass in their class 12 examination (Under a recognized board of education) or its equivalent with at least a 50% average

BA English (Hons)

Must pass their class 12 examination with 50% as well as a 50% average in Physics, chemistry, and mathematics.

Candidate should have been born on or after 1-07-2001

Should also pass the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) or the JEE main paper II

FAQs on KIITEE Eligibility Criteria 2023-24

1. What are the specifics for KIITEE reservation criteria?

  • KIIT provides a reservation for all candidates in physically challenged categories, as well as SC/ST candidates

  • B.Tech courses will reserve 30% seats of each category for women (applicable only for B.Tech, B.Tech- M.Tech dual degree Biotechnology)

  • Candidates of the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category have a reservation of 7.5% 

  • Candidates of the Scheduled Caste (SC) category have a reservation of 15%

  • The physically challenged category has a reservation of 3%

  • Candidates who qualify for reservation of a seat will not have to take the KIITEE as long as they meet the other basic eligibility criteria.

2. What are the KIITEE eligibility criteria for PG courses?

P.G courses like M.A English, and M.A sociology will require a 50% average in any U.G course in order to apply. Other courses have more specific requirements. M.Sc. Nursing requires a B.Sc. Nursing degree (from a recognized institution), at least a year of experience, and be a state- registered nurse. M.A economics requires a 50% average in any U.G course that also includes Mathematics / Economics / Statistics. Age limits for P.G courses are rare except in courses like M.Sc. (Biotechnology), in which case any applicant must have an equivalent U.G degree but must also have been born on or after July 1, 1996.
