JEECE Eligibility Criteria 2023-24

JEECE 2022 admission procedure is conducted by Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board every year. It is a state-level admission process through which a large number of qualifying candidates are offered admission into B.Tech and B.E degree programmes. Admission in these programmes is offered to the qualifying candidates in various government and private engineering colleges of the state. There is a set eligibility criterion put up by the conducting examination board for the admission in various colleges. The students are expected to study Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as their core subjects for qualifying the examination. 

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria are the set guidelines given by the exam conducting body that allows the students to be able to apply for the exam. It is mandatory for all the applicants to fulfil the standard JEECE eligibility criteria to be able to apply for the examination.

JEECE eligibility criteria, 2022 for the exams is set up by the JCECE board, and the notice is issued on the official website. The eligibility criteria is as follows:

1. Nationality – Candidates applying for the examination must be the citizen of India.

2. Qualifying Examination – the applicant must have passed his/her 10+2 examination from a recognized board. 

3. Qualifying Subjects – The applicant must have passed his/her qualifying exam with mathematics, physics, and chemistry as compulsory subjects.

4. Minimum Marks – applicants must have scored a minimum of 45% marks for the general category as well as 40% for the reserved category candidates in the qualifying exam.

5. Domicile – The applicant must hold a permanent or at least a local residential certificate of the state of Jharkhand. 

Main Factors Affecting The Eligibility Criteria

Some of the important factors affecting the eligibility criteria are:

1. Nationality 

2. Scores in the qualifying examination

3. Mandatory subjects in the qualifying examination

4. Minimum score of marks obtained in the qualifying examination

5. The reservation criteria set up by the officials for general/ SC/ST category candidates.

Reservation Criteria

The Reservations are applicable in JEECE based on caste, category, disability, and various other criteria. Some major details of the reservation in JEECE 2022 are mentioned below:

1. The caste or category-based reservation criteria is applicable as per the latest reservation policy of the government of Jharkhand.

2. Candidates claiming reservation under this head will be required to show adequate certificates, such as caste certificate in proper format issued by a sub-divisional officer or deputy commissioner of Jharkhand

3. The percentage of reservation provided to various category people are mentioned in the following table

Reservation Based on Category

Reservation Under Servicemen Quota (SMQ)

Reservation under this quota is applicable for Government Engineering Institutions only. A sequence of priority is followed in this category of reservation.

1. The first preference is given to the Widow or wards of the defense personnel who have laid their lives at the time of duty for the country.

2. The second preference is given to the wards of both the ex-servicemen as well as currently serving personnel who have suffered from any sort of disability while serving the nation.

3. Wards of ex-servicemen who are in good health are also given preference.

4. Wards of serving defence personnel who are in good health are given preference.
