Sikhism is one of the most commonly observed faiths in the whole world, with Sikhs making their mark in numerous fields. Their faith teaches love, kindness, and brotherhood. Sikhs always take pride in the teachings of their faith and in the principles propagated by their gurus. 

Guru Nanak: Early Life 

Guru Nanak Dev Ji was born on the 15th of April, 1469 in a place called Talwandi, which was then a part of undivided India. He is the first of the gurus of the Sikhs. 

Born in a poor Khatri family, he was a very intelligent child. Everyone was fascinated by his way of seeing the world. His parents were Mehta Kalu and Mata Tripta. He renamed Bhai Lehna as Guru Angad and made him his successor. He lived a happy and peaceful life amidst his disciples and died at the age of 70 on 22nd September 1539.
