Attention Future Aspirants: JEE Main 2024

While preparing for JEE Main 2024, it is crucial to be familiar with the updated syllabus. Make sure your study plan aligns with the JEE Main syllabus 2024, covering all relevant topics thoroughly, to increase your chances of success in this highly competitive exam.

About JEE Main 2023-24 Study Materials

The important topics covered in the IIT JEE maths study material pdf for JEE Main 2023-24 are as follows:

Coordinate Geometry

  • Hyperbola

Hyperbola is mainly described as the open curve that has two branches, both being mirror images to each other. In this chapter, there are a lot of important terms and formulas. The main topics include the equation of hyperbola, foci, eccentricity, latus rectum, and its characteristics.

  • Ellipse

This is an important topic from the examination point of view. This refers to all the sets of points on a plane adding up to a constant. In this chapter, some important equations are taught which include area, tangent equations, chord as well as normal equations.

  • Parabola

This is a U-shaped plane curve where a point equals a distance from the focus. This is an important part of the conic section and all parabola concepts are covered in this section.

  • Circle

This is a locus of all points moving in a plane, having equal distances from focus. This chapter helps students get an idea about circles, the equations of tangent, normal, and chords.

  • Matrix and Determinants

The first chapter covers all topics related to matrices, their types, operations, inverse, ranks, and solving of equations using them. The next chapter contains an Introduction to Determinants, their properties, Minors and Cofactors, a system of linear equations.

  • Probability

Probability is an easy chapter that has combinations of trigonometry, differential calculus, straight lines and circles in coordinate geometry, and permutations.

  • Trigonometry

This is an important chapter covering three main topics which are Trigonometry, Angle Measurement, and Inverse Trigonometric Functions.

  • Calculus

This is a chapter which carries a lot of weightage and has many essential topics which include Limits, Continuity and Differentiability, Differentiation, Applications of Derivatives, and Integration.

The significant topics that are required for IIT JEE Physics study material are as follows:

  • Heat and Thermodynamics

Thermodynamics and heat covers the interaction of one body with another in terms of quantities of heat and work. In thermodynamics, the system is described as a quantity of matter or a region in space under investigation.

  • Optics

This chapter deals with numerous phenomena including interference, and polarization. Wave optics in the Physics section majorly deals in Wave optics theories, Huygens wave theory, Maxwell Electromagnetic Theory, Wavefront, Wave Normal, and Coherent and Incoherent Sources.

  • Simple Harmonic Motion and Waves

The simple harmonic motion chapter covers many important topics like the different motions, their types, general terms, differential equations, angular SHM, conditions required, and energy in SHM.

  • Mechanics, Electrodynamics and Modern Physics

Mechanics chapter covers different topics including Kinematics, Newton's Laws of Motion, Conservation of Momentum, Work Energy and Power, Gravitation, Fluid Mechanics and Thermal Physics.

The Electrodynamics chapter covers different topics including Electric field and Potential, Gauss law and Capacitors.

There are four major topics in Modern Physics are Dual Nature of Radiation and Matter, Atoms, Nuclei, Semiconductors.

The important topics covered in the IIT JEE 2023-24 chemistry study material pdf are as follows:

  • Ionic Equilibrium

This chapter broadly talks about substances in Ionic Equilibrium, Ostwald’s Dilution Law, its limitations, Ionic Equilibrium Formulas, Degrees of Ionization, common effects, and dissociation of ionic compounds.

  • Mole Concept, Atomic Structure, Nuclear Chemistry

The mole concept covers various topics such as various types of reactions particularly redox reactions. Atomic Structure is the only chapter whose contents are not in direct correlation to mole concept, students must study this chapter carefully since there are questions from this in the examinations.

  • Organic Chemistry

This branch involves the study of organic compounds, their structure as well as their chemical composition, and their properties. This chapter includes the following topics-

  1. Cleavage of bonds

  1. Reaction intermediaries

  1. Carbenes and free radicals

  1. Carbanions and Carbocations

  1. Types of Reactions

  1. Resonance effect

FAQs on JEE Main 2023-24 Study Material

1. Will the candidate have to fill up a different application form for every session?

There is absolutely no requirement for the candidate to fill up multiple application forms. The candidate has to fill up only one application form for all sessions. If he fills up the form now, the same form will be shown for later sessions. (March/April/May) However, students must keep in mind that they can appear for the JEE Main exam 2023-24 for three consecutive years. Hence, it is essential that students must prepare themselves well for the first attempt, so that they do not have to appear repeatedly.

2. Can the candidate apply for another session after the result has been declared?

The candidate is given a chance to apply for the next sessions which will be held in the months of March or April or May. The application window is reopened briefly after the declaration of results. However, instead of appearing again and again, students must focus on clearing the JEE Examination 2023-24 at the very first attempt. Students can also solve previous year papers for checking their preparation level, understanding the pattern of the examination and learning how to manage time during the examination.

3. Is it mandatory for all candidates to upload Gen-EWS, SC, ST, OBC(NCL) and PwD certificates?

Yes, it is compulsory for all candidates to upload an original copy of Gen-EWS/SC/ ST/OBC(NCL)/PwD candidates which are issued by the respective state authorities. In case the candidate does not possess such a certificate, then he/she is required to upload the self undertaking. Failure to do so, will result in the non acceptance of the application form and the student will not be allowed to appear or sit for the Joint Entrance (JEE) Examination 2023-24.

4. Which is the final score considered while compilation of results and preparation of merit list and ranking?

All candidates have the choice to appear in one or multiple sessions. For each session, the student is awarded an NTA score on the basis of the performance. The best NTA scores of all sessions is considered the whole preparing merit list/ranking. One of the biggest advantages of appearing for JEE Main 2023-24 is that there are multiple opportunities given to each candidate so as to improve their scores in the examinations, if they fail to do so in one attempt.

5. What is the total time duration of the examination for students who wish to appear for both B. Arch as well as B. Planning?

The admit cards are usually released in the month of August, until then all candidates are allowed to make corrections in their forms. All candidates who wish to appear in both Paper 2A and Paper 3B are allotted a total time duration of about 3.30 hours. This is from 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm. The exam is condcuted at various regions of India as well as abroad. Students must always keep a track of their study schedule and their objectives to ensure they make it.
