Old bricks

– Rs \[1200\] for one thousand bricks

New bricks from Intapur

– Rs \[1800\] for one thousand bricks

New bricks from Brickabad

– Rs \[2000\] for one thousand bricks

Bhajan decided to buy the new bricks from Brickabad. He bought three thousand bricks. How much did he pay?

Guess what he will pay if he buys \[500\] old bricks.

Ans:

  • As said, Bhajan decided to buy  new bricks from Brickabad which is of Rs \[2000\] for one thousand bricks. Hence, the cost of 3 thousand bricks will be \[3 \times 2000 = 6000\] rupees.

  • The cost of \[1000\] old bricks is Rs \[1200\]

  • If Bhajan buys \[500\] old bricks then the cost will be half of the cost of 1000 bricks. Thus, Bhajan needs to pay \[ = \dfrac{{1200}}{2} = 600\]rupees.
