Hint: The rate of reaction is affected by increasing or decreasing the concentration of reactants and products. If the concentration of reactant is increased in the reaction then the rate of forward reaction will increase and backward reaction will decrease and on the increasing concentration of products in the reaction the rate of backward reaction will increase and the rate of forward reaction will decrease.

Complete answer:A chemical reaction in which the formation of the product and as well as the formation of reactant take place such type of reaction is called a reversible reaction. And reversible reactions try to attain chemical equilibrium. Equilibrium is a state where the rate of formation of product is equal to the rate of formation of reactant. On increasing the concentration of the reactant in the reaction the equilibrium will shift towards forward reaction which means the rate of forward reaction will increase and on increasing the concentration of the products in the reaction the equilibrium will shift towards backward reaction which means the rate of backward reaction will increase. An increase in the concentration of reactant favors forward reaction and an increase in the concentration of products favors backward reaction.

Thus, an increase in the concentration of one or more products will favor the reverse reaction in chemical equilibrium.

Thus, Option (C) is correct

Note: When an external factor like temperature, pressure, or concentration is changed i.e, increased or decreased. The system tries to shift the equilibrium in such a way that the effect of these factors can be reduced.
