The sound is produced due to vibrations and human beings are able to hear it. The frequency of a sound wave is defined as the number of vibrations that are passing through a point in one second. The frequency of a sound wave is given by the unit Hertz written as Hz. If the frequency of the sound wave is increased or decreased, it affects the pitch of the sound that is produced.
If the frequency of the sound wave is increased, the sound produced will also be of high pitch. As a result, a shrill sound will be produced. For example, the voice of a woman is of higher pitch than that of a man, and a chirping or a singing bird produces a sound of high pitch.
Hence, the pitch of the sound will increase if we increase the frequency of it.
