Extraction of metals from minerals easily and profitably are called ores. Therefore, all ores contain minerals. However, not all minerals are ores. Most ores contain mixed metals, that is they occur in the combined state. They are in the form of compounds such as oxides, sulphides, carbonates, sulphates and silicates. Some metals (which do not react with air, water, carbon dioxide, and nonmetals) are free or natural in the earth's crust. Examples include gold and platinum. So, both the assertion and the reason are correct, but the reason is not the correct explanation for the assertion.
So, the correct option is B.
