JEE Counselling 2023

The JEE 2023 counselling will be conducted online by JoSAA. Applicants who have qualified based on the NTA JEE 2023 results will be entitled to apply for JEE 2023 counselling to get admission to NITs, IIITs, or GFTIs. The JoSAA authorities will hold IIT JEE 2023 counselling in six rounds. The JoSAA 2023 registration and selection procedure will begin on the official website, the Joint Seat Allocation Authority. JEE Counselling 2023: Different Sources

How Counselling Is Done In JEE

Step 1: Online Registration:

  • Click the JoSAA link from the Official Website.

  • Sign in with your JEE 2023 Application Number, Password, and Security Pin.

  • Carefully read the instructions, and click "I Agree."

  • Fill out the JoSAA Counselling Form with the necessary information.

  • Select the Declaration and click the submit button.

  • Check the provided information before clicking the "Confirm Registration" button.


Step 2: Online Choice Filling and Locking Options:

  • Choose colleges and programs carefully.

  • Applicants can change/edit/delete their completed choices.

  • Before the deadline, make your selections.

  • Choice locking is possible following each round of JEE 2020 Counselling.


Step 3: JoSAA Seat Allotment:

Before allocating the highest possible seat based on candidates' preferences, the counselling and seat allotment authority, JoSAA, would consider the following factors:


  • Candidate Category (Gen., OBC-NCL, SC, etc.)

  • JEE 2023 All India Rank (AIR) list (s)

  • According to the candidates' priority order of selection for academic programs and institutes

  • Seats are available under various seat categories/quotas for which the applicant is eligible.


Note: A few days after Choice Locking, candidates will receive notification of seat allocation through registered email or SMS on the registered mobile number.


Step 4: Payment of the Seat Acceptance Fee and Document Verification:

  • Pay the seat acceptance fee through net banking or an e-Challan for the assigned seats.

  • In the reporting center, all of the paperwork will be checked.

  • A provisional admission letter will be sent after the documents have been verified and the fee has been paid.


The following categories have different seat acceptance fees:


  • General Unreserved: INR 45,000 

  • SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PWD: INR 20,000


Step 5: Reporting to the Allotted College:

This is the last step. Applicants must report to their assigned college with all required documents for final verification and admission.


JEE Special Round Counseling

  • The Central Seat Allocation Board organises the counselling procedure for the JEE Special Round Counseling 2023 (CSAB).

  • After the sixth round of JEE 2023 Counseling, CSAB 2023 registration for special rounds will start in October.

  • Immediately after completing the JoSAA 2023 seat allocation procedure, there will be two special rounds of JEE Counselling.

  • After the six rounds of JoSAA counselling in 2023, the CSAB conducts these two more special rounds for the still open seats.


JEE Counselling Cutoff - Starting and Finishing Positions

  • JoSAA has announced the JEE Counselling Cutoff 2023, which includes the opening and closing ranks for all six rounds.

  • The round-wise cutoffs will be published on the JoSAA website.


Documents Needed for Verification Following JEE Seat Allocation in 2023
