Introduction

Qualifying Exam: JEE Advanced

IIT Roorkee Admission Process

To get admission into the UG courses of Roorkee IIT college in 2023, students must go through the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE), which is an all-India competition that allows admissions to all the IITs. The steps for getting admitted to the UG program involve:

  • Candidates must clear the JEE Main 2023 exam.

  • Based on the JEE rank, candidates are selected to go through the JEE Advanced 2023 exam.

  • After clearing the JEE Advanced, candidates go through 6 rounds of counselling with JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority).

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility for getting into the JoSAA counselling is outlined below:

  • The student must have either secured 75% marks (60% for SC, ST, and PwD categories) in their 12th exam OR they are in the top 20 percentile (category wise) in their respective 12th class or equivalent exam.

  • The candidate must have Physics, Chemistry, and Maths as their compulsory subjects in their qualifying exam.

  • They must have qualified in the JEE Advanced exam. For B.Arch, the candidate must appear for the AAT (Architecture Aptitude Test)  that is conducted under JEE Advanced or appear for NATA.

  • The ranking for the candidates in JEE Mains must be amongst the top 2,45,000.

Application Process

For applying to IIT Roorkee UG courses, an aspirant must fill out the application form which is available online at the official portal of the institute. The application would need details of the academic qualifications of the candidate as well as the preferred course along with all the scanned copies of required documents. Once the application is submitted and IIT Roorkee fees are paid, the application process is over.

  • Candidates must visit the official portal of IIT Roorkee for registering themselves.

  • After registration, log into the portal with valid credentials.

  • Select the desired course and then choose “click here to apply.”

  • Now candidates can fill or update their application form with relevant data like academic qualifications, and other personal details.

  • Save the entered data into the system.

  • The candidate must pay the fees in the next step.

  • Now the “Submit” button must be clicked in order to submit the form.

  • Next, click on “Print Application” to take a printout of the application form.
