On the other hand, the metro train was first introduced in Kolkata city by the Indira Gandhi Government in 1984. At that time, the technological field started growing; therefore, the concept of the metro train was launched in the first metropolitan city in India.

As we know, the metro train is known for travelling a short distance in less time. That is why people choose to travel through the metro in their daily life. Because the train travels a short distance in a short time the number of seats available is also less than the local trains. 

When it comes to the local trains, it will take time to travel the distance. It is also designed to travel across the city by taking more time. It is mainly used for transportation purposes, but some of the trains are also designed for travelling. Therefore the number of seats available on the train is also more compared to the metro train. 

• Management of the Trains:

You should know that the management authorities of the metro train and local train are different from each other. Commonly the local trains in India are managed by the Ministry of the Railway and Government of India. On the other hand, metro trains are administered by the Ministry of Railway and the Metro authorities respective of the particular state.
