Ans. National Talent Search Examination or NTSE is a scholarship programme started by the NCERT board in 1961. It is an initiative by the NCERT to identify students with academic excellence and award them with a scholarship programme until their PhD levels. All students studying in Class 10 from any board can appear for the exam.
NTSE exams are held in two stages. The first stage is held at a state level, which is open to all students of Class 10. The second stage is held at a national level and comprises those students who are shortlisted in Stage 1. It provides scholarships to the best 2000 students that appear for this exam every year.
