FAQs on Light Class 7 Notes CBSE Science Chapter 15 (Free PDF Download)
1. How lights reflect on a shiny surface?
Light rays follow the laws of reflection and reflect on the shiny surface. The incidence and bouncing of the light rays depend on the surface of the reflecting medium. Follow Light Chapter of Class 7 notes to understand this phenomenon properly.
2. What is the difference between refraction and reflection?
As per Class 7 Science Light notes, reflection occurs when light falls on a shiny but opaque surface such as a mirror. Refraction occurs when the light rays are incident on a transparent medium such as a lens. Here, the path of light rays gets refracted.
3. What is light, and how does it travel?
Light is a form of electromagnetic radiation that our eyes can perceive. It travels in straight lines called rays. These rays can pass through transparent materials and bounce off or be absorbed by opaque objects.
4. How does light create shadows?
Shadows are formed when light is blocked by an opaque object. The side of the object facing away from the light source does not receive light, creating a shadow on surfaces beyond. The size and shape of the shadow change based on the position of the object and the light source.
5. Why does a rainbow appear in the sky?
Rainbows occur due to the dispersion of sunlight by raindrops in the atmosphere. Each raindrop acts like a tiny prism, separating sunlight into its component colours. When sunlight enters and exits raindrops at specific angles, it forms the beautiful spectrum of colours that we see as a rainbow.
