Hint: We must analyse the question given and try to solve this by knowing the full forms of L.H.S and R.H.S. Now on the LHS make the alphabetical term alone with its coefficient as one to get the RHS.
Complete step-by-step answer:
First, you must know the full form of L.H.S which is Left Hand Side
Similarly, the full form of R.H.S is Right Hand Side
Now, the given simple equation is as follows:
2a-3 = 5
By looking at this we must analyse what is left side and what is right side of the equation. As you can see on the left we have the expression containing the variable and on the right we have a constant.
Therefore, L.H.S is 2a-3 whereas the R.H.S of the given equation is 5.
Now, we can solve this expression as well and find the value of the variable by adding 3 to 5
2a = 3+5
2a = 8
Now, divide 8 by 2 and simplifying it, we will get
a = 4
Here, by solving we realise that L.H.S of this is a variable ‘a’ and R.H.S is 4.
Note: We should definitely know what L.H.S and R.H.S stand for before beginning to solve the question as well as the equation should not be very complex, if it is so we should first break it down then solve it and then one can easily understand its left hand side and right hand side.
