The full form of PRMO is the Pre-Regional Mathematical Olympiad which is basically the first level of your Mathematics Olympiad and it leads to the inclusion of various stages. 2. Regional Mathematical Olympiad (RMO) is the Second Stage.

This is the second stage of the Olympiad and the exam is conducted in the selected centers of the region. The duration of the exam is 3 hours and the total number of questions it has is 6. The medium of the examination for the students who are appearing is basically Hindi and English and sometimes it is also conducted in other regional languages.

3. Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO) is the Third Stage.

The students who are considered to be the top performer in the Regional Mathematical Olympiad (RMO) across different regions are eligible for the Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO).

4. International Mathematical Olympiad Training Camp (IMOTC) is the Fourth Stage.

The top performers of the third stage, which is the Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO) , would be invited by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education ( HBCSE). Approximately 35 students are invited to join this training under which they need to go through various kinds of tests and out of them only 6 best students would be selected for the next level of the Olympiad.

5. Pre-Departure Camp is the Fifth Stage.

The selected students would go through rigorous training which is conducted by Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education ( HBCSE). This training is conducted for 8 to 10 days before its sixth stage.

6. The International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) is the Sixth Stage.

There are a total no of six students who get selected in the fourth stage that is the International Mathematical Olympiad Training Camp (IMOTC)  and these six students further represent India in the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) is considered to be the Sixth Stage.

Eligibility for the Pre- Regional Mathematical Olympiad(PRMO)

The basic criteria for the PRMO are mentioned below:

1. The candidate/ participant needs to be an Indian citizen.

2. He must be born on or after 1 August 2001 in order to take part in this Olympiad.

3. According to the orders of the Madras High Court, students with Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) cards are eligible to participate in all five stages of the Olympiad. But they are not eligible to participate in the sixth and final stage , the International Mathematical Olympiad. For this, all the students who have been studying between class 8 to class 12 are eligible to participate.
