Class 3 English Ch 7 NCERT Solutions: A Brief Summary

The story “Little Tiger, Big Tiger” is beautiful and enjoyable. This lovely story is written by Lois Hamilton Fuller. The story tells us about a tiger cub and his mother. It teaches us how growing up makes us proud and self-dependent. English Class 3 Chapter 7 is a very important chapter for students to learn more about growing up.

The story begins with two tigers that lived near a river in a shady jungle. The two tigers were a mother tiger and her small cub. The mother tiger used to go out to hunt for deer and pigs when the sky was dark. The tiger cub stayed close to his mother.

The second paragraph in Class 3th English Chapter 7 tells us about what happened when the Langur monkey saw the mother tiger and warned other animals about her arrival. The Sambhar deer bellowed and the Kakar deer barked and went away. The mother tiger then had to hunt for jungle fowl, pheasant and frog. She went to the river to hunt for fish too. She did not go out to hunt every night.

When the moon was bright at night, the mother tiger used to lie down and wait for the dawn. The tiger cub pounced on her tail again and again. When he went too far, she called him back to her with a low, quiet grunt. He came back but he didn’t like to stay near his mother at night.

One night when the mother tiger was tired and closed her eyes, the tiger cub saw a tiny frog. He tried to catch the hopping frog by pouncing but the frog hopped away. At last, when he caught it, he turned around to show the frog to mother tiger. She wasn’t there. Instead, there was a tiger near him in the jungle which was even bigger than the mother tiger.

So the cub was frightened of the other tiger and he had nowhere to run and hide. As the other tiger crept up near the cub, there was a roar which filled the jungle. It was the mother tiger’s roar. As she faced the other tiger, he went away. She liked to roar loudly to tell the other animals that she was in the jungle. When she roared, all the other animals kept away. When the tiger cub roared his loud tiger-cub roar, none of them was afraid or ran away.

When the cub tiger became a full-grown tiger, he walked for miles looking to hunt. Then, when he roared, all other animals kept away. Hearing his loud roar, he smiled a great big tiger smile.
