You get S = 5/2 (1+5), which when further solvedย is equal to 15.
4. How to calculate the arithmetic mean of two terms in AP?
To calculate the arithmetic mean of say a and c in an arithmetic progression of a, b, c, you will use the formula a+c/2. The arithmetic mean that you will get will be equal to b. For example, in the arithmetic progression 2, 4, 6, the terms are a = 2, b = 4, c = 6, the arithmetic mean will be 2+6/2 = 4 and we know this is correct because the arithmetic mean is also equal to b=4.
