The English Sample paper for Class 10 has been released by the Central Board of Secondary Education to make the students acquainted with the question paper pattern and section-wise weightage.

Like the original Class 10 English Sample Paper Class 10 CBSE English consists of three sections in total - Reading Skills, Writing & Grammar, Literature. Section A - Reading:

Writing is a combination of reading, recollecting and reproducing correctly. While writing, format plays an important role while the writings are being subjected to be awarded marks. So, always remember to write the answers in the correct format without any grammatical mistakes.
Before you jump into the answers, take a min to plan your idea, organise it and then present it with grammatical accuracy. Ensuring that the answers are written with appropriate spellings, words, consistency and relevance will make your answer more appealing making the examiner score more marks.
Be clear and confident about the story outline. Ensure the answers do not go off-track unnecessarily. This will only make the examiner suspicious about your preparation levels. Therefore always stick to the storyline and do not provide unnecessary information.
While writing letters, make sure they are precise, with proper punctuation, greetings and necessary information. Ensure that it is neatly divided and elaborated into first, second and third paragraphs.
The grammar points might be tricky to answer. But with proper practise they are the easiest and the best to score.
Start solving the passages only after proper and careful reading. Give yourself enough time to understand the perfect meaning of the passage. It is not recommended to simply fill the blanks randomly without proper comprehending of the questions/passage.
Read the words/phrases carefully multiple times to write grammatically precise sentences.
Section C (Literature):
Preparation of every individual chapter is mandatory. Read word by word, understand the moral or concept of every single chapter and then memorize only the important points. Memorizing the answers is not recommended for English subject.
While preparing notes, ensure you keep a note of names of chapters and their authors as well with proper spellings and brief history about them.
Comprehend the central theme/idea of the chapter before you start answering.
Make sure all your answers for the questions are on the basis of your personal inference, interpretation and comprehension. Provide proper reasoning for your inferences to justify your answers as well.
Figure out the prose or poem from which the lines/words have been taken and try to in what sense they have spoken said and who is the speaker.
Ensure that all the answers have appropriate words, are grammatical accurate, filled with good expression, coherence, relevance and proper spellings.
