What is The Full Form of KSEEB?

KSEEB stands for Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board and it is a state education board in Karnataka, India. It came into existence in 1964 and conducts SSLC exams, Class 12 and PUC exams in the month of April, every year.

Pattern of KSEEB Class 12 Economics Question Paper 2018

Knowing the pattern will help candidates write their answers flawlessly along with confidence and out of no fear. Let’s check the pattern or structuring of KSEEB Class 12 Economics Question Paper 2018 given as follows:


Karnataka Board Class 12 Economics examination 2018 was for 3 hours 15 minutes and the maximum marks was 100. There were 5 sections, namely part A, part B, part C, part D and part E in the question paper which are described as follows:

  1. The first was Part A which was necessary to attempt and answer in a sentence or a word. Each right answer will fetch you 1 mark. Part A comprised 10 questions’ some of the questions were related to meaning of positive Economics, expansion of MRS, definition of production function, meaning of firm, definition of normal profit, Great Depression, consumption foods, bank rate, formula for calculating saving and open economy.

  2. Part B comprised 12 questions and any ten of them had to be answered. Each correct answer would fetch 2 marks and had to be answered in 4 sentences. Some of the questions asked in KSEEB Class 12 Economics question paper 2018 were four features of an indifference curve, differences between normal goods and inferior goods, calculation of marginal and average products, meaning of average revenue and marginal revenue, monopoly and its features, differences between microeconomics and macroeconomics,  meaning of nominal income and real national income, identifying scheduled and non-scheduled commercial banks, relationship between multiplier and marginal propensity to consume, fiscal policy, balance of trade and balance of payments and the meaning of surplus budget and deficit budget.

  3. Part C comprised 12 questions out of which any 8 questions had to be answered. Each answer had to be given in 15 to 20 sentences and each of the questions carried 5 marks. Some of the questions were based on basic economic problems of an economy, short notes on the centrally planned economy, the law of demand, elasticity of demand, laws of returns to scale, price elasticity of supply, features of oligopoly, limitation of microeconomics, primary and secondary functions of money, Keynes investment and types of investment, revenue account of the Government budget and various types of exchange rate systems.

  4. Part D of KSEEB Class 12 Economics question paper consisted of 4 questions and students had to answer 2 out of them in around 40 sentences. Each question answered was given 10 marks. Some of the questions asked were law of diminishing marginal utility with a schedule and diagram, monopolistic competition and its features and functions of the reserve bank of India.

  5. Part E consisted of 3 questions and students had to answer any two questions and each question was given 5 marks for the correct answer. Some of the questions were based on drawing the budget line and explaining various statements, filling up the missing costs, the meaning of TFC, TVC, TC, AC and ANDMC and classification of various terms like bank deposits, food grain stock, wealth, foreign exchange reserves, net investment and capital and national income into stocks and flows.
