Hint: Oil and water are two immiscible liquids which do dissolve in each other. Separating funnel is used for immiscible liquids whereas filtration funnel is used for separation between solids and liquids.
Complete step by step answer: Two immiscible liquids are always separated by using Separating Funnel. This is based on the difference between their densities. In this process, mixtures of unequal densities are always taken so that separation becomes easy.
Oil and water being two immiscible liquids can be separated by the aid of separating funnels. The process involves the basic differences in density value. The density of water is more than water thus water settles at the bottom in the separating fun whereas the oil floats at the top. Thereby two separate layers are formed which makes the separation process easier. Now after keeping the separating funnel undisturbed for some time, open the stopcock of the separating funnel and pour out the lower layer of water carefully.
This separation technique is done in a short duration of time with much ease.
The schematic representation of the separation of mixture of oil and water is shown below:

So, A mixture of oil and water can be separated by separating funnels.
Note: Liquids which do not dissolve in each other are called immiscible liquids which can be separated by Separating funnels. Separating funnel, Buchner funnel and filtration funnel commonly used funnels for separating mixtures with its own principle of working.
