Factors Determining the IIT Roorkee Cutoff 2025

Here are the factors determining the IIT Roorkee Cutoff 2025:

  1. Number of Applicants: The total number of applicants for each course affects the cutoff. Higher demand usually leads to higher cutoffs.

  2. Difficulty Level of Exam: The difficulty level of the JEE Advanced exam plays a crucial role. Tougher exams generally result in lower cutoffs, and vice versa.

  3. Seat Availability: The number of seats available in each course affects the cutoff. Limited seats with high demand increase the cutoff, while more seats can lower it.

  4. Reservation Policies: The reservation policies for different categories (such as General, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, EWS, and PwD) influence the cutoffs for each category.

  5. Previous Year Cutoff Trends: Previous years' cutoff trends serve as a reference point. They help predict the expected cutoffs and understand the pattern of changes.

  6. Performance of Applicants: The performance of applicants in the JEE Advanced exam directly impacts the cutoff. Higher-scoring applicants lead to higher cutoffs.

  7. Gender-specific Cutoffs: Gender-specific cutoffs can differ due to separate seat quotas for male and female candidates in certain courses.

  8. Specific Branch Demand: The demand for specific branches varies, affecting the cutoffs. For instance, Computer Science and Electrical Engineering often have higher cutoffs due to high demand.

  9. Supernumerary Seats: The presence of supernumerary seats for female candidates and PwD candidates can influence the cutoffs in certain categories.

  10. Cutoff Policy of IIT Roorkee: Each IIT can have its own policy regarding cutoffs, considering factors like maintaining quality education and ensuring fair opportunities.
