MHT CET 2020 is a state level examination that is conducted by Maharashtra’s Common Entrance Test Cell. MHT CET 2020 Important Dates

Exam date

The entrance examination will be held in two slots –

  • Slot I from 13th to April 17 2020

  • Slot II from 20th to April 23 2020

Catering to the convenience of candidates, the examination authority offers them a choice of slots and exam centres. It ensures that they sit for the examination well prepared and as per their convenience.


Result date

MHT CET 2020 result will be declared on June 03 (tentatively). The results will be announced online. After which DTE, Maharashtra will prepare a separate merit list for each of the courses that fall under this exam regime.


Counselling dates

Counselling for the MHT CET exam begins right after the disclosure of MHT CET 2020 result.  Separate merit lists for each of the academic courses are available; each of these lists is curated by referring to the marks obtained by a candidate in an entrance examination. Students will be summoned and categorised for the counselling sessions based on their rank and cut-off range.

Deciding Factors for Cut Off

Cut off marks are determined by DTE, Maharashtra after taking into account several factors. The deciding factors of cut-off marks are:

Counselling Procedure

The counselling procedure commences shortly after the declaration of MHT CET result 2020. Candidates to know the progression of this procedure can look into the steps below:

Step 1: Registration Process

After the announcement of MHT CET 2020 result date, the first step that a candidate should take is to visit the official website and mention the necessary details. The details mainly include

  1. Personal details 

  • Candidate’s name

  • Gender

  • Father’s name

  • Mother’s name

  • Religion

  • Region

  • Mother tongue

  • An annual income of a family

Step 2: Details regarding qualification

Students have to enter their qualification details per se their marks of 10th and 12th standards

Step 3: Uploading of documents

Scanned copies of photograph and signature have to be uploaded to participate in the counselling procedure.

Step 4: Payment of fees

Candidates have to pay the counselling fees through online mode. 

Step 5: Print out of documents

Every candidate has to carry a printed copy of their fees payment challan at the time of document verification. 

Step 6: Reporting at allotment centres

Candidates are required to report at their appointed facilitation centre for verification of credentials. A candidate who fails to carry the documents will not be allowed to participate in the admission procedure.

Step 7: Choice of Colleges

Students have to check the boxes for their preferred institutes

Step 8: Declaration of Merit List

Final declaration of merit list will be initiated by DTE, which will comprise names of the shortlisted candidates. Seat allotments for these candidates will be made based upon their rank in the merit list.
