JEE Main is a part of the Joint Entrance Examination. There are two parts of the Joint Entrance Examination - JEE Mains and JEE Advanced 2024. JEE Main has been conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) since 2019. Till 2018, it was conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). JEE Main 2024 consists of two papers, Paper I and Paper-II. Candidates may choose one or both of them. Multiple-choice questions are included in both papers.
Paper-I is for admission to B.E./B.Tech courses and is administered through a computer-based test. Paper-II is for admission to B.Arch and B.Planning courses and will also be administered via computer-based testing, with the exception of one paper, the 'Drawing Test,' which will be administered via pen and paper or offline mode. A new Paper - III was introduced for B.Planning courses from January 2020.
The students who wish to take this exam are required to register themselves for the test. The NTA officials shall provide the date and time of examination based on the registration by students. To appear in JEE Main 2024 exams, the age limit of the candidates is not announced by the authorities. The candidates who have passed the class 12/equivalent examination in 2022 and 2023 or appearing in 2024, irrespective of their age, can appear in JEE (Main) – 2024 examination.
Candidates need to clear 10+ 2 exams from any recognised Central/State Board, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi; Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi; etc.
Candidates need to qualify for senior secondary examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with 5 best subjects including Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Students who have studied less than 5 subjects in their qualifying exam are not eligible for JEE Main 2024 exams.
For B.E./ B.Tech, the candidates should clear the senior secondary examination with subjects including Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology / Technical Vocational Subject, and any other subject.
For B.Arch / B. Planning, the candidates should clear the senior secondary examination with subjects including Language, Physics, Mathematics (mandatory), Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology / Technical Vocational Subject, and any other subject.
Candidates who have completed the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination outside India or have not cleared the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination from any recognised Central/State Board of India should produce a certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) to the effect that the examination they have passed is equivalent to the Class 12 Examination.

Exam Instructions Required to Be Followed - JEE Main 2024
We are sharing a brief about the general instructions issued by NTA which they expect every candidate to adhere to without any exceptions:
The appearing students are strictly prohibited from carrying any text material, electronic gadgets, calculators, watches, or log tables in the exam hall.
The students are only allowed to carry their admit cards and ID proof in the exam hall.
They are advised to report 2 hours early from the exam start time to escape any sort of rush.
All candidates are also advised to read the instructions on their admit cards.
None of the candidates will be allowed to leave the examination hall before the scheduled time of the end of examination.
