Every examination year, NTA releases a comprehensive list of Exam centres for both Indian States and Outside India. As per the recent updates, NTA has selected 501 cities in India and 13 cities abroad to conduct JEE Main 2024.
The allocation of the Exam centre is based on preferences filled by the candidate during the JEE Main application process. The Candidates are asked to select 4 exam centres as per their current address and feasibility. Accordingly, NTA will allocate the exam centre for those candidates who have successfully completed their application forms and will receive their Centre details in their JEE Main Admit Card.
NTA has added three new exam centres for the conduct of JEE Main 2024 examinations. Kargil (Ladakh), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), and Anuja/ Lagos (Nigeria) are three new centres freshly added by NTA. This step was taken with the concern for Covid-19. To facilitate students for easy reach and less crowding in the exam centres, these 3 new exam centres have been added.
Well, the applicants cannot request any change to their exam centres after the JEE Main admit card has been issued.
Applicants are recommended to select exam centres based on their ability and availability of transportation to the locations listed. Because JEE Main candidates are distributed across the country, NTA has established test centres with well-maintained road and rail connectivity for the year 2024.

NOTE: The choice of examination centres also determines the medium of the question paper. For example, in case you want to attempt your entrance in either English or Hindi, you need not be worried about the centres because all of them provide these two mediums.
However, if you want to give your exam in Gujarati, the centres you should opt for include Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Gujarat, and Daman and Diu.
Candidates residing in India can choose from the available list of examination centres spread across 501 cities. Whereas, Students living abroad can choose from the 13 international examination centres.
The centre choice is available to candidates during the registration process. They can select a maximum of 4 centres according to their preference. However, the seats are filled on a first-come-first-serve basis.
