JEE Advanced 2014 held the entrance exam on 19th January 2014 for the 2nd time since its inception on May 23, 2009. It was an extremely popular entrance exam because it was the first time that the number of seats was reduced from 15,300 to 6,300 (from 1,90,000 seats). More and more candidates appeared for the JEE 2014 exam than any other.

About Maths Question Paper-2 with Answer Keys

JEE Advanced is held twice a year i.e. once in the beginning of February and once in the middle of January and this time it was held for only one day i.e. 19th January 2014. The whole schedule was as follows: As per the schedule, for the first time, the JEE-Advanced entrance examination has been conducted on a single day only.


The result of the examination will be declared only at the end of January 2014. The results of the JEE-Advanced 2014 were announced on the official website jee.nic.in on 3rd February 2014. This year around 14 lakh candidates had appeared for the exam and around 40,000 applied for the counselling procedure which was announced on 30th May 2014.


However, after the counselling, only 33,923 candidates were called for the further examination which was held in January 2014. At the end of the examination, a total of 3,34,042 candidates were found eligible for admission to the JEE Advanced 2014. However, only 1,90,000 seats were made available, i.e. more than half were not considered for selection and more than 35,000 seats were vacant. As the vacant seats were to be filled up from the candidate list (candidates who had qualified in JEE-Main 2014), aspirants who could not secure admission to IIM Ahmedabad had to make the JEE-Main 2014 again.


In this article, we are going to share the JEE Advanced 2014 question paper, answer key, syllabus, pattern, questions asked and their marks. All those who wish to secure admission in the Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad, must prepare well for the JEE-Advanced and keep in mind that the merit list will be prepared on the basis of the percentage of marks. The exam was held in January 2014.


Section-A was general English, Maths, Physics and Chemistry and there were a total of 100 marks for each of the sections. The general English paper had a total of 100 marks for English writing and language comprehension as well as vocabulary and the usage of the language. There were a total of 300 marks for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. The Mathematics paper had a total of 100 marks for theory. For the quantitative aptitude, there were a total of 100 marks and for the analytical aptitude there were 100 marks. The total marks for the paper were 500.


JEE Advanced Maths Question Paper-2 Year 2014 was released by the joint committee of the IIT Kharagpur and Indian School of Mines on 19th March, 2014. A list of questions, their reference numbers, number of attempts allowed, question paper number, number of attempts to be made by each candidate and corresponding answer key has been uploaded on the JEE Portal. Candidates can download the question paper and view it online as well.


The questions in the JEE Advanced paper are divided into two sections, Paper-2 and Paper-3. In Paper-2 and Paper-3, candidates are required to have a minimum of 50% in Physics and Chemistry and 50% in Maths to qualify to take the JEE Advanced exam. Paper-2 and Paper-3 both have three subjects in each i.e Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.


The subjects in the paper will be covered from Algebra to Calculus. The paper is designed to test higher order reasoning and problem solving skills. Besides higher order thinking skills, Paper-2 is also meant to test students on their understanding of the concepts taught in the subject. The paper also includes an essay section of 25 marks. In addition to questions, the paper also has answer keys to be solved.


There will be an attempt limit of 3 times to the paper with corresponding answer keys to be solved. JEE Advanced papers are very tough, both in paper-2 and paper-3. 1. If two candidates have the same JEE Advanced aggregate marks will the 2 candidates be given the same rank?

If two or more candidates have the same aggregate score, the following tie-break policy will be applied to determine rank. Candidates with higher positive scores will receive a higher ranking. If a candidate fails to appear for one paper, his mark sheet will show as A (Absent), but the final grade will be FAIL. They don't have a Dropout status to display. Thus, it is important that candidates must appear for both papers of the JEE Advanced 2014 to get a high rank in the exam.
