Time Domain Reflectometer

  • TDR measures the reflections of electrical pulses along the conductor

  • It listens for the reflections by passing down the cable pair and incident signals &.

  • If the cable pair has an invariable impedance, there will be no reflection and the incident signals can be received from the other end of the cable pair.

  • If the cable pair has no unvarying impedance, then a number of the incident signals are moved to the TDR that tracks the fault after the reflections are analyzed.
