What is UPSEE?

UPSEE is the short form for Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Exam. This exam is targeted at state level by the students to get admission into various colleges that are affiliated to Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow. Once cleared, the exam provides admission to the courses B.Arch, B.Pharm, Hotel Management, MCA, MBA, MAM and Fashion and Apparel Design. This exam is conducted both in online and offline mode. Students can also take lateral entry to MCA and Fashion and Apparel Design courses. There are about 841 colleges in Uttar Pradesh that are affiliated to AKTU and other universities.

What Makes You Eligible For UPSEE 2021?

If you wish to sit for the UPSEE 2021 exam, you should fulfill the eligibility criteria failing which you will not be able to grab a seat. These eligibility criterias are prescribed by Dr A.P.J Abdul Kalam Technical University for admission in various courses. Check out the eligibility criterias here.


Eligibility Criteria for Admissions in B.Tech, B.Arch, BFAD, BFA or BHMCT

  • The candidate should have completed intermediate examination from Uttar Pradesh Board or Class 12th examination or its equivalent course from any recognised Board.

  • Candidates should have passed the 12th examination without any grace marks in all of the compulsory subjects and one optional subject.

  • Candidates should have obtained a minimum of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for reserved category in aggregate in required subjects (PCM/B)

  • Candidates who have completed 3 years Diploma in Architecture (10+3), recognised by Central or State Government, are eligible to take admission in 1st year of B.Arch only. They can take admission only when they have passed the Diploma with minimum 50% marks in aggregate without any grace. They also have to appear in the entrance examination for the first year of B.Arch, Paper 4.

  • Candidates who wish to apply for B.Tech please remember that the admission in B.Tech will be done on the basis of JEE Main scores.


Eligibility Criteria for Admissions in MBA, MCA, Integrated MBA Courses Through UPSEE 2021

  • Candidates who wish to take admission in the above mentioned courses through UPSEE 2021 should have completed the Bachelor’s degree from any recognised University with minimum marks of 50% for general category and 45% for reserved category.

  • To be eligible for admission in MCA, candidates should have passed class 12th or graduation with Mathematics.

  • For 5 year MBA Programmes, Integrated MBA Programme (Dual Degree), the candidates should have passed Class 12th from Uttar Pradesh Board or equivalent exam from any recognised Board.


Eligibility Criteria for Lateral Entry Through UPSEE 2021

Eligibility for Lateral Entry in B.Tech Programmes:

  • Lateral Entry (Direct Admission) in the 2nd year of B.Arch programme is not allowed. 

  • Direct Admission or Lateral Entry in B.Tech programmes for Engineering Diploma holders or B.Sc Graduates with Mathematics as one of the subjects in XII standard is offered in the institutions affiliated to AKTU, Lucknow.

Eligibility Criteria for Direct Admission (Lateral Entry) to the Second Year in Any Branch of Engineering/Technology:

  • The candidate should have passed 3 years Engineering Diploma from any institution in UP securing a minimum marks of 45% for general category or 40% in reserved category.

Or

  • Those candidates whose parents (Either Father or Mother or both) reside with the domicile of Uttar Pradesh and have passed 3 years Engineering Diploma with minimum 45% marks (40% for reserved category) recognised by the board of Technical Education, UP, in any of the branch of engineering (except Agriculture Engineering, Pharmacy, and Architecture).

  • The candidates who have completed 3-year B.Sc Degree from any recognised University with a minimum aggregate marks of 45% (General category) and 40% (Reserved Category) and have passed 12th with Mathematics as one of the subjects are eligible.


Eligibility for Lateral Entry in Agriculture Through UPSEE 2021

To be eligible for lateral entry in Agriculture through UPSEE 2021, the candidates should have passed 3-years Diploma in Agricultural Engineering from an institution of Uttar Pradesh with a minimum aggregate marks of 45% (General) and 40% (Reserved Category).

Or,

The candidates whose parents are residents of Uttar Pradesh and have passed 3-years Diploma inAgricultural Engineering with minimum aggregate of 45% (General) and 40% (Reserved Category) from an institution which is recognised by the Board of the Technical Education, UP.


Eligibility Criteria for Admission to 2nd Year of B.Pharm Through UPSEE 2021

  • The candidate should have passed B.Sc or ⅔ years of Diploma in Pharmacy with Mathematics as a subject in class 12th.


Eligibility Criteria for Admission to the 2nd Year of MCA Through UPSEE 2021

  • Candidates should have cleared 3-years Bachelor degree in Computer Applications (BCA) or B.Sc IT or B.Sc Computer Application

  • The candidate should have obtained minimum 50% marks in general category and 45% marks in reserved category.

Note: Lateral Entry or Direct Admissions in courses B.Arch, BFAD, BFA, BHMCT and MBA is not permitted.

Points to Ponder:

  • Candidates will get only one type of reservation out of UPFF/UPAF/UPHC. However, Female candidates can claim for anyone of UPFF/UPAF/UPHC along with UPGL.

  • Candidates have to mention their choice of category at the time of the application process.

  • Under any circumstances, requests for change of category or sub - category will not be entertained.

  • Candidates will be notified about the availability of seats under the Fee waiver scheme in the respective categories during their counselling process.

  • Female candidates will automatically get all the benefits of UPGL sub - category.

  • Candidates who have passed out of institutions located in UP’s rural area will get a weightage of 3% of the total marks obtained by them in UPSEE 2021.


UPSEE 2021 Application Form

To participate in the counselling, the candidates have to fill the application form of UPSEE 2021. They have to register in the official website of UPSEE 2021. No other mode of application will be accepted. The candidates who qualify JEE Main 2021 are eligible for admission in the participating Institutions and Universities of UPSEE 2021. Here are the steps that a candidate will have to follow for filling the application form:


Step I - Registration: The candidates will have to visit the official website and register themselves providing the basic details.

Step II - Form Fillup: In this step, the candidate has to provide personal information and the information of JEE Mains.

Step III - Document Upload: Scanned copy of photograph and signature has to be uploaded in the website after filling the form.

Step IV - Fee Payment: After uploading the documents, the candidate will have to pay the fee and the application will be completed.


UPSEE 2021 Merit List

Merit list of UPSEE 2021 will be published by Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow after the counselling registration process. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of JEE Main scores. Candidates whose name appears in merit list will be eligible to participate in the counselling session of UPSEE 2021. They will get seats based on the counselling. If any two students have scored same marks in JEE Mains, then the breakup will be done as:

  • Candidates with less incorrect responses will be given a higher rank.

  • If there's still a tie, the candidate with the highest total marks in PCM will get a chance first.

  • If the tie still persists, then the older candidate will get first preference.


UPSEE 2021 Counselling

The students whose name appears in the merit list are eligible for UPSEE 2021 counselling. The counselling will be conducted by Dr A.P.J Abdul Kalam Technical University in online mode. On the basis of merit, the candidates will be allotted seats in various courses and colleges. The selected candidates will have to submit documents and pay the fee to confirm their admission.

Q1. What is the Upper Age Limit for Appearing in UPSEE 2021?

Ans. There is no upper limit to appear for UPSEE 2021.

Q2. What is the Cutoff Percentage for Qualifying UPSEE 2021?

Ans. The cutoff percentage to qualify UPSEE 2021 is 25% for general candidates and 20% for reserved category candidates.

Q3. When will AKTU Release the Results of UPSEE 2021?

Ans. AKTU will not release results of UPSEE 2021. The admissions are done on the basis of JEE Mains marks. However, AKTU will publish a merit list of UPSEE 2021 for the counselling sessions.
