The cutoff is the minimum score required for an applicant to advance to the NTSE stage 2 review. Those who meet the stage 1 NTSE cutoff will be placed on a merit list.

For Stage 1

• Candidates who wish to take the NTSE exam in Class X must have passed the Class IX exam of a recognised board. The applicant must have received at least a 60% on the Class IX test.

• Candidates must have a degree that has been approved by the Board of Examiners.

• Students who have passed or are scheduled to pass the Class tenth examination and are enrolled in Open Distance Learning (ODL) are eligible to take the NTSE exam.

For Stage 2 

• Around 8000 competitors take the NTSE stage 2 test every year. Competitors who pass stage 2 of the NTSE with the important least score are qualified for grants.
