The National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) began its flagship examination National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) in 1963. The assessment was begun, to give students monetary benefits & motivate them to seek after their higher professions in Science and Social Sciences. In 2000, students were given grants in light of their NTSE Stage-2 imprints. In the wake of clearing NTSE Stage-1, directed at State and UT level, around 7000-8000 understudies are called upon for Stage-2.
