FAQs on NSTSE 2023-24 Exam Counselling

1. What is the advantage of the NSTSE Examination?

The National Science Talent Search Examination (NSTSE) examination is conducted annually to identify and nurture some of the sharpest minds in our country. It is an investigative assessment that tests the aptitude of students, and then provides feedback of the same. Unlike board examinations which usually tests the memorising capabilities, NSTSE is mainly conducted to assess understanding of concepts and logical skills. This exam deals with finding how much the students have understood the fundamental concepts of their curriculum.

Upon request, students also get detailed feedback about their marks and the areas they need to focus on as well. The detailed result helps a student get over their fear of concepts and develop an in-depth understanding of ideas.

2. What is the syllabus of NSTSE?

NSTSE examination is conducted at two levels for classes 2 to 12. The syllabus for this test is widely based on the school curriculum itself. Students are asked multiple-choice questions from Mathematics and general science that are common to all boards: CBSE, ICSE, various State Boards, etc. One of the most important things to notice is that this exam discourages rote learning. Instead, logical reasoning and understanding concepts are of primary focus.
