NSTSE Olympiad:

NSTSE (National Level Science Talent Search Examination), unlike any other exams this exam focuses on conceptual learning of the subjects rather focusing on the grades. NSTSE does not give students grades rather they provide students with a detailed performance report known as SPR for their improvement. NSTSE aims to bridge the gap between fundamental understanding and Phobia of the subjects and topics.


NSTSE exam is an online exam, a proud brainchild of Unified Council of India. There is no need for rushing to any exam centres and worrying about the timings and all you can do is sit back at your home and give this exam. The only requirement is that you must have a webcam and a PC/Laptop with an active Internet Connection.


NSTSE Exam 2021

Eligibility Criteria:

Every Year around thousands of students from across the nation apply for this exam. Students from class 1st - 10th and class 11th & 12th (PCM & PCB) are eligible to take this exam.


Syllabus of NSTSE 2021:

There is no specified syllabus for NSTSE 2021 because students from all the boards (CBSE/ICSE/ISC and State boards) participate in this exam. Hence, it was made very clear by the UCI that students must prepare from Syllabi of all the boards.


Exam Pattern:

The exam paper for each class is different. One must note that these questions are based on Multiple Choice based questions. One mark is awarded to all the right answers, however, there shall not be any negative marking for the wrong answers. The time allocated to solve this question paper is 1 hour.

The Application Process of NSTSE

The NSTSE exam registration process is straightforward. Candidates can go to the official website of the Unified Council to complete this process. Here is a step by step guideline:

  1. After visiting the official website, click on the online registration option for the academic year 2020-21.

  2. Open ‘click here to register’.

  3. Choose the grade, and then it will display different Olympiads that are available. This year students of Class 1-10 only can apply.

  4. Select the examination and click on ‘continue.’

  5. Duly fill the NSTSE exam 2021 registration form and check the ‘I agree to the terms and conditions’ and click on ‘submit.’

  6. It will then lead to the payment options page. Candidates can then pay the examination fees and download this receipt.

  7. Lastly, they need to download the NSTSE application form for future reference.

What is the Examination Fee of NSTSE?

Students need to pay Rs.354 to complete the registration process of the NSTSE exam. Against this amount, they will receive the following:

  • Student’s Performance Report (SPR).

  • Two previous question papers.

  • E-book.

  • A success series ebook.
