The only medical qualifier entrance exam in India is NEET. Based on NEET scores medical aspirants get an admission in various colleges in India to pursue a career in medicine and surgery. So, all the medical aspirants must go through this test to be eligible to apply for admission in central, state, as well as private medical colleges. This test is set by the National Test Agency- NTA based on objective questions from biology, chemistry, zoology, physics subjects. The college offering MBBS and BDS courses must be recognized by the Medical Council of India.

The list of government colleges and the number of seats are updated by the government every year. This is the list of colleges and seats available for the year 2020. In addition to this, the entrance exams are centralized by the government from the year 2016 onwards for the medical stream. This allows the students to be screened on the basis of one National test instead of various tests for various colleges. Therefore, NEET is the only test you will have to prepare for and pass to apply for all the medical colleges across the country.
