Introduction to the Story of Krishna and Kaliya

As the name suggests, the story of Krishna and Kalia a serpent who stayed in the water. The Yamuna River used to be home to a gigantic black snake by the name of Kaliya. With his venom, he tainted the river's water. The exceedingly powerful serpent terrified the residents of Vrindavan. Krishna decided to discipline Kaliya one day. To slay the serpent, he dived into the river. In a rage, Kaliya hastened to strike Krishna. In this story, we will see how Lord Krishna defeats Kalia and drives him out of the water.

Kalia Story

It was a peaceful day in the forest. The occasional breeze blew through the fresh green leaves of the majestic trees, playing happily. A cuckoo bird chirped merrily on the branches of a giant peep tree. Butterflies were chasing each other, and little crickets were jumping here and there. Mother Nature seemed to laugh and enjoy the children's fun.

"Shhh! Here we come!!!" An angry voice suddenly hissed, destroying the fun and enjoyment around it.

Many-hooded Kalia and her chicks slowly emerged from her lair.

As they moved, the grass beneath them turned black, and the trees passing by lost their color. "Is there a better place to stay with my family?". "I can't breathe!". Even cuckoo birds on branches would roll over and die when the air around them became poisonous.

Thus, the eastern part of the Yamuna near the village of Brindavan slowly began to die. It was like usual. Suddenly, someone yelled at Chief Nanda's house. All nearby people rushed to the place. A frightened whisper was heard from the crowd gathered outside Nanda's house.

Nanda's wife, Yashoda.

"What's wrong, Yashoda?" Nanda asked anxiously.

"Oh, I had a terrible dream." Yashoda shuddered at the thought.

"It's just a dream, Yashoda."

Nanda tried to appease his wife. But Yashoda was not relieved. "I need to make sure my son is okay. Son, where are you?" she called. Little Krishna looked inside.

"What, mother?" he asked.

"Krishna, shouldn't we go anywhere today?" Yashoda said quietly, not wanting to upset her son.

Krishna and his Mother

Krishna stayed there for some time. Yashoda seemed to have some plan in his head beyond human comprehension, then ignored his mother's words and ran out of the house.

``Krishna! Son!

After a while, they got tired and climbed a tree to rest.

There was a treehouse at the top. Krishna and his friends made it, especially for adventure. But the little tree was not strong enough to support so many children, and it groaned under their weight of them. Krishna felt sick. “I wish I had a bigger tree to build a treehouse,” he said. We seem to be crushing this!'

``I know where the tallest tree in Vrindavan is,” and ran eastward.

Since Krishna was loved by all his friends, did he have no choice but to follow him?
Soon Krishna and his friends reached the eastern side of Brindavan Forest. I saw the place.

Bright enough from the outside. The lake had a lot of water and a waterfall nearby. But it wasn't until the children got closer that I noticed a change.

water had a bluish color.

But the grass around the lake was no longer green. It was black. There was a huge tree overlooking the lake, but it was dying.

"I don't like it here," lamented one of his friends. "I don't like the place," he repeated.
Krishna gazed at the lake thoughtfully for a moment. Then he turned to his friend. "Now that you've come all the way here, let's play with a ball!" he said, grabbing the ball and throwing it to Kusela, who had difficulty catching it and slid it into the lake. The ball disappeared into the water with a soft pop.

"Let me do it," said Krishna, before his friends stopped him before he jumped into the strange waters!

Krishna dived into the bluish waters of Yamuna. On the shore, his friends shouted in fear. But the boy raised his head and shouted back:

Krishna Dancing on Kalia.

Krishna Dancing on Kalia.

"Don't worry; I'll be right back with the ball!" The skin was uncomfortably itchy.

Krishna swam deeper and found the plants burnt and twisted as if soaked in acid.

At the bottom of the River Yamunā, Kāliya had ensnared Krishna in his coils and was poisoning the water. Krishna sprang out of the river and assumed the weight of the whole universe, beating him with his feet. He then regained his original form and began to jump on all of Kāliya's heads to release the poison in the snake so that he could no longer pollute the river. When the people saw Krishna, everyone was happy and danced ecstatically upon Krishna's head.
